Considered the best saffron in the world for its unique characteristics, it has a high coloring power, intense, strong and exotic aroma with a slight bitter taste. It is grown only in the region of Castilla La Mancha (Spain). An irreplaceable spice in many Spanish recipes. Made from the dried stigma of crocus flowers - approximately 150,000 flowers are needed for one kilogram of dried saffron. This is equivalent to 2,000 square metres of field area per kilogram of harvest.
