Membrillo

A traditional quince paste that is smooth with a sweet rich flavour.  Quinces grown in Spain are sweeter than those grown in the UK. While it is still unusual to eat them raw due to their hard pulp, they can be stewed to produce a delicious paste that is high in natural fibres.

Membrillo can be used in Spanish recipes, for both sweet and savoury dishes, and is an excellent accompaniment to strong flavoured cheeses and meats.
